Engagement Photos

What are the benefits of having an engagement shoot?

There are many reasons it is important to take engagement photos once you have become engaged.  An engagement session is without a doubt one of the greatest services you and your fiancé can take advantage of prior to your wedding (In my opinion). As a couple who likely has never been photographed professionally before, the engagement session is a valuable tool every couple should utilize or insist upon. I encourage all of my couples to schedule an engagement session, especially if they are a little nervous about being in front of the camera and its w lot of fun!

Establishing a relationship with you is important to me, so when it comes to your wedding we will have a better level of connection which will help make you feel more comfortable during your big day! I spend about an hour or two with you watching you, listening to you, having fun with you, getting to know you, and photographing you all at the same time. I like to take note of how you interact with each other, your individual personalities, and even your quirks.

Its good to have your engagement photos taken at a location that is important or that has some meaning to the two of you. This could be a place you got engaged or a first date, it could be at a place you both like to spend time, or something you like to do together such as a shared interest. or if you want to be extravagant and have some epic photos taken in an extraordinary place, heres your chance! Some of my clients have taken me sledging on a mountain, a hike to some beautiful waterfalls and even paddle boarding on a lake!

How do I prepare?

Location - Pick somewhere you would love to get photos taken, a good memory, your favourite place or lets go all out and hike to on the top of a mountain!

Clothing  - Wear clothes that you love and that our comfortable for you. Make sure what you are wearing complement each another and that they don't clash. You can even bring different outfits to play around with.

Lets get creative - If you have any props that you would like to bring with you that represent you well, then bring the along and we can see how we can involve them in the shoot. If you have a "save the date idea" i can do that too. Some clients have brought ice cream, candy floss, balloons and even their dogs!

Pintrest -  I always tell clients to go on to pintrest to get ideas for your engagement shoot, It will also help you you to get an idea of how to pose for the photos. But don’t worry about that too much as i will take care of you and you guys can just focus on being together.

I will always direct you but it will help you to feel more comfortable in the photo shoot if you have had a look online.  www.pintrest.com

'Note - I also encourage couples to bring accessories such as umbrellas, scarves, hats and sunglasses to play around with and it helps keep their hands busy.

If you book an engagement shoot alongside your wedding shoot I will give you a discount of £30

I can promise you once you see your engagement photos you will be excited about them and you will have more confidence and be more relaxed about your wedding day photos!
