2020 - An odd year

At this time of the year I always make a blog to celebrate and to look back on all the weddings that I have photographed from the year just gone by. Even though last year was an extremely hard year for so for so many couples having to change, cancel or postpone their wedding but It’s still a year worth celebrating. To those who changed their plans and still got married well done for being brave and pushing through and to those who postponed and are waiting out the storm, good on you! - I CANT WAIT to celebrate and capture your day!

I was lucky to have photographed 3 weddings before the UK locked down in March (you will see some photos that are not socially distanced) and then I started doing doorstep portraits, which had me cycling all over London and meeting new people. I cycled as far south as Crystal Palace and all the way up to North Finchley. (I now love cycling) In that short period of time I managed to photograph over 80 doorstep portraits and it was so fun to meet some of these friendly faces again when I was there to capture their micro wedding later on in the year. Again thank you to all of you who booked a session. :)

Weddings have always been special, but I have found a certain joy in the 18 weddings I have been apart of this past year. Met with adversity time and again every couple has pushed through and I feel privileged to have been a part of their much sought after day. From capturing the delight on the faces of the couple who postponed their wedding three times as they ran through falling confetti thrown by the hands of their nearest and dearest, to the more intimate moments of a grandfather praying over a beloved granddaughter and her new husband.

A massive thanks to every couple that booked me last year and to the wedding community who have rallied together and helped one another out. Two legends in particular are Claire Fleck for covering a wedding for me and to Sara Lincoln for having me along to second shoot with her.

This year has been a year that none of us will forget, but It’s been an honour in sharing some of your most happiest of memories, for that I am grateful.

Hoping 2021 will be a better year! Below is my 2020 yearly round up.
